Learn about the Innovators

Building on the events held in 2007, this year we are bringing together three of the world's leading creative thinkers to create unique innovations for our hotels. These innovations will vary greatly but will all have one thing in common – they have been designed to inspire your Crowne Plaza stay.

Following on from the success of our first two innovators, Roger von Oech with the Think Box, and Stefan Sagmeister with the Think Notes, our third innovator, Gilian Schrofer, will design a unique sensory experience for Crowne Plaza hotel guests, through the creation of the Think Space. This will be placed in the lobby of four Crowne Plaza hotels in Germany, Benelux, UK and Jordan.

Gilian Schrofer, Dutch Interior designer, began his career in the hotel and catering industry to later move on and discover his talent. As co-founder of renowned design company Concrete from 1997 to 2004, he has been responsible for many celebrated restaurant, bar and hotel interiors throughout Europe. Gilian has since set up his own company Concern with business partner Cindy Bosma to focus on more cultural assignments, and today works with a number of prestigious and diverse mix of clients.

In contrast to some of his previous projects, Gilian will add an intriguing new dimension to the Crowne Plaza hotel experience. The Think Space will provide guests with the opportunity to refresh and reinvigorate the mind after a day of business travel or meetings. The Think Space will offer a harmonising yet stimulating environment as guests listen to a bespoke soundtrack of high frequency sounds that energise the mind within a unique structure that immediately removes the business traveller from their traditional work environment.
