Absence really does make the heart grow fonder
A Recent Crowne Plaza survey amongst business people reveals that time spent apart can actually help you enjoy a better relationship with your partner.
76% of those surveyed tell their partner they love them more often when away for work while 60% of them confirmed that the further they are away, the more they call.
Texting ‘I Love You’ to their partner during a business meeting is also not unusual, with 40% admitting that they often do so and a fifth of women having sent ‘something saucy’.
The same is not the case back at the ranch, however. On a typical evening at home, a third of people prefer watching TV rather than talk to their partner, with over a quarter admitting that dinner time may be the only point that they are even in the same room.
The majority of 25-55 year old business travellers ‘check in’ with their loved one at least once a day, although two thirds wait until the end of the day to catch up from the comfort and privacy of their hotel room.
But business travel still has its cost - women tend to feel guiltier than men about being away, although both agree that it can give couples space to think about what brought them together in the first place.
